Buddy Seat Co began with the kind of view you don’t forget — riding beside my dad in the buddy seat of tractors and combines across Iowa fields.

Gravel roads, early mornings, long harvest nights, and the quiet rhythm of farm life shaped the way I see the world. It wasn’t something I thought about at the time — but it stuck with me. The land, the light, the stillness… it all became part of how I notice things.

Over time, that turned into photography. Trying to capture those same moments — the way a field looks just before sunset, the feeling of an empty road, the kind of calm you only get out in the country.

And more recently, into painting. A different way to slow down, to study light, color, and personality — whether that’s a landscape, a farm scene, or an animal that feels like part of someone’s home.

Buddy Seat Co is a mix of all of that.

Every piece — whether it’s a photograph or a painting — comes from real Iowa ground and real experiences. The goal isn’t just to create something that looks good on a wall, but something that feels familiar. Something that reminds you of a place, a moment, or a part of life you don’t want to forget.
