Custom Paintings from Memory
For the moments you still carry — even if no photograph exists.
Some memories were never captured on camera, but they still deserve to be seen.
Through original paintings created from your stories, scattered reference photos, and the details you remember most, I hope to help bring meaningful scenes back into view — preserving the people, places, and moments that shaped you so they can be shared for generations to come.
The Memory That Started It
This idea began with a painting I created for myself — a scene I had carried for 22 years: the last memory I have of seeing my dad.
There was no photograph of that exact moment. I pieced it together from memory, scattered old reference photos, and the details that had never left me. The tractor. The angle of the scene. The feeling of that moment. Slowly, the memory became something I could finally see outside of my own mind.
Creating that painting made me realize how many of us carry scenes like this — moments with people we love, places that shaped us, and chapters of life we wish could be seen again. Not because every memory is tied to loss, but because some moments matter too much to disappear simply because no one had a camera nearby.
That is the heart behind Custom Paintings from Memory.
The reference photos I had to work with
There was no photograph of this exact memory. I worked from old snapshots, partial references, and what I still remembered most clearly. That process — piecing together a scene that existed only in fragments — became the beginning of this idea.
The painting as it came to life
A Meaningful Scene, Painted Back Into View
A custom painting from memory might be:
- a parent on the tractor at dusk
- a grandparent in the yard of the old home place
- children with someone they loved beside a classic car
- a childhood farm moment no one thought to photograph
- a beloved home, porch, workshop, garden, or gathering place
- a scene from a season of life that still lives vividly in your mind
These paintings are not only memorial tributes, though they can certainly honor someone deeply missed. They are also for preserving meaningful moments with people who are still here, places that have changed, or stories you want future generations to understand in a more tangible way.
Using your memories, any reference photos you may have, and the details that matter most, I create one-of-a-kind paintings that aim to feel emotionally true to the scene you remember.
A Painting That Begins With Your Story
You do not need one perfect photo. These paintings are created from a combination of memory, conversation, and reference images when available — even if those photos are scattered, old, low-quality, or incomplete.
1. You Share the Memory
Tell me about the scene you wish you could see again. Who was there? Where did it happen? What details still stand out? What feeling do you hope the painting holds?
2. We Gather the Pieces
If you have reference photos of the people, place, vehicle, clothing, home, or other meaningful details, those can help guide the painting. When no single image exists, I work from the pieces available to help shape a scene that feels faithful to your memory.
3. I Bring the Scene to Life
From there, I create an original painting inspired by your story — a one-of-a-kind piece meant to preserve more than how something looked, but why it mattered.
4. The Memory Can Be Shared
The finished painting becomes something tangible: a way to honor a loved one, celebrate a meaningful chapter, preserve a family story, or help children and grandchildren see a moment they were never there to witness.
A Memory Shared With the People Who Hold It Too
If desired, private canvas reproductions of your original painting may also be available so the memory can be shared with siblings, children, grandchildren, or others who cherish that story.
These reproductions would be created only for you and the people you choose to share them with — never offered for public sale or made available to anyone outside your family’s personal memory.
Have a Memory You’d Love to See Painted?
This offering is still taking shape, and I’m currently gathering interest from people who feel connected to the idea.
If there is a memory, person, place, or scene you have always wished could be captured in a painting, I would be honored to hear about it. Whether it is a tribute to someone deeply missed, a childhood farm memory, a beloved family place, or an ordinary moment that became unforgettable with time, you are welcome to share the story below.
Tell me about the scene you still carry.
If I open a limited number of custom painting opportunities in the future, I can reach out with more details.
